Palazzo Biscari is the most important private Baroque palace in the city, built in the 18th century by the Paternò Castello family, Princes of Biscari. Renowned for its Rococo-style Ballroom, richly frescoed and adorned with mirrors and stucco, it still preserves original furnishings. The vaulted ceiling features a small dome that includes an elliptical balcony, once used by the orchestra, accessible via a spiral staircase described by the prince as a "cloud-flake". The external courtyard, dominated by a double-flight staircase, introduces the magnificence of the interiors. Still inhabited by descendants, Palazzo Biscari hosts private and cultural events, guided tours, and concerts in an old-world atmosphere
