Santa Tecla is a small and charming seaside hamlet of Acireale, known for its black lava stone coast, clear waters, and spectacular sunsets. The jagged coastline, shaped by ancient Etna lava flows, features natural coves perfect for snorkeling. In Santa Tecla stands the old "Tower of Santa Tecla", now in ruins, once built to defend the village from Saracen raids. The patronal feast at the end of August, featuring a sea procession and fireworks, is still deeply cherished by the locals.
